Things are going to get hairy on Scream Queens season 2. Taylor Lautner, best known for playing werewolf Jacob in the Twilight franchise, is joining the star-studded cast of Fox's comedic horror series, Us Weekly has confirmed.
With the show's setting changing from a college campus to a creepy hospital for the second season, Lautner, 24, will play Dr. Cassidy Cascade, a physician who suffers from an odd malady and becomes a suspect in a string of crimes at the institution.
Scream Queens was cocreated by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan — a.k.a. the Glee brain trust (Murphy and Falchuk also cocreated American Horror Story) — and wrapped up its 13-episode season 1 run in December 2015. Production on season 2 begins in July.
John Stamos had previously been announced as joining the new season's cast. Returning from season 1 are Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash.
The role marks the first regular U.S. TV gig for Lautner, who costars on the British series Cuckoo. He recently appeared in Netflix's Adam Sandler film The Ridiculous 6 and had roles in the films Valentine's Day, Grown Ups 2 and Abduction.
Season 1 ended with the reveal that Hester (Michele) was the villainous Red Devil, having worked in tandem with Pete (Diego Boneta) and Gigi (Nasim Pedrad). Hester managed to get away with everything by pinning it all on her sorority's three surviving Chanels.
"I was excited!" Michele told Us exclusively in December about learning that she was the evil mastermind.
