Sinead O’Connor Responds to Arsenio Hall’s $5 Million Defamation Suit

Sinead O’Connor responded to Arsenio Hall’s $5 million defamation suit via a Facebook post on Friday, May 6, in which she called the talk show host’s accusations “laughable.”

“Regarding Arse-inio Hall’s laughable threats,” she titled the post. “I’m more amused than I’ve ever dreamed a person could be and look forward very much to how hilarious it will be watching him trying to prove me wrong.”

On Thursday, Hall, 60, filed a lawsuit against O’Connor, 49, after the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer accused him in a Facebook post on Tuesday, May 3, of supplying Prince with drugs and allegedly drugging her in the past.

In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the lawsuit states that the Irish singer is “well known for her media antics and for seeking attention through inflammatory Facebook posts.”

“I’m also very happy to notice that the DEA have taken me seriously enough to be thoroughly questioning all of Prince’s friends and aides from the last 30 years as to his KNOWN history of hard drug use and where he obtained his drugs,” O’Connor, who has dealt with mental health issues, continued in her post Friday. “I do not like drugs killing musicians. And I do not like Arsenio Hall.”

As previously reported, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration are now involved in the ongoing investigation into Prince’s death.

The late “Purple Rain” singer died on April 21 at age 57. He was discovered with painkillers in his possession, but a cause of death has yet to be determined.
