Status update. Patrick Dempsey confirmed in a recent interview that he and his once-estranged wife, Jillian, are indeed back together after more than a year of stalled divorce proceedings.

Dempsey, 50, responded in the affirmative when Evening Standard’s ES Magazine asked whether he and the makeup artist have reconciled.

“Yeah, I think so,” the former Grey’s Anatomy hunk said. “You have to work at everything. And you cannot do everything. Something has to be sacrificed.”

Jillian first filed divorce papers in January 2015, demanding spousal support and joint custody of the couple’s three kids — Tallulah Fyfe, 14, and twins Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen, 9 — after 15 years of marriage.

Since then, however, neither party has taken steps to further the proceedings, and the pair have in fact been spotted out and about holding hands and making out.

In November, the couple was photographed holding hands in matching outfits while strolling through Paris, and this past February, McDreamy and his wife packed on the PDA while lying out on a yacht in St. Bart’s.

One thing that may have prompted the pair’s change of heart is Dempsey’s pointed efforts to spend more time with his family, a factor that reportedly played a part in their initial split.

“I’ve sort of stepped back — I’m the team owner, but time goes by so quickly with my kids that I don’t want to miss that,” he told ES of putting his passion for car racing on the back burner. “Last year we had a good team, and a good car, it was the right moment … where I could focus 100 percent on doing a full season. Now it’s time to put that personal philosophy into my kids, allowing them to find their goals, their passions.”

According to TMZ, the judge in their divorce case has issued an ultimatum for the couple to get the ball rolling on their court filings or have the case dismissed altogether.
