Timeless looks! Stars stepped into their Tuesday best for the Time 100 Gala on Tuesday, April 26, in New York City. And while the night’s luminaries like Hillary Clinton and Leonardo DiCaprio were praised for their contributions to politics, art, music and more, a slew of celebs nearly stole the spotlight for their red carpet style.
Melissa McCarthy flaunted her shrinking size-14 figure in a custom creation by her go-to stylist, Judy B. Swartz. The Boss star paired a high-waisted pencil skirt with a silky ice-blue blouse that showed off a tiny bit of skin with its keyhole opening. Celine pumps, Neil Lane jewels and a Jimmy Choo clutch added finishing touches.
On the carpet, McCarthy told Us Weekly about her emotional return to the Gilmore Girls set. "I went back and visited about two weeks ago, and saw the sets again and everybody on them, and it just felt — oh, my God, I get so sentimental," the 45-year-old actress said. "It felt like the greatest idea in the world. It was just lovely. It was just lovely."
Karlie Kloss reigned in a purple Victoria Beckham floor-length cami dress. The model stood even taller in Manolo Blahnik shoes. She swept blonde locks in a bun to show off her 1.45-carat pink gold and diamond Maison Dauphin earrings.
While Kloss shone in a bright color, Ariana Grande played with texture. The “Dangerous Woman” singer performed her hit single for the night’s VIPs in a Christian Siriano strapless tulle gown and Giuseppe Zanotti Design shoes, paired with a glittering diamond choker.
Nicki Minaj performed as well — and was also one of this year’s cover stars. The “Feeling Myself” rapper chose a black sheer lacy Givenchy look styled by the house’s creative director himself, Riccardo Tisci!
