Crying like a "baby." Justin Bieber shed a few tears during an emotional performance of his song “Purpose” — the title track off his acclaimed, smash 2015 album — during a concert at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, May 7.
In the clip, Bieber sits on the ground near the front of the stage, closes his eyes and starts crying as he belts out the lyrics, which are said to be about his newfound relationship with God. By the end of the ballad, the 22-year-old pop superstar, who is wearing a bandana tied around his head, completely breaks down with tears running down his face. The screaming Beliebers even try to comfort the chart-topper and let him know the fans are always there for him.
The night before the Philadelphia stop of his Purpose world tour, Bieber hit up NYC’s West 4th Tattoo Parlor and got a surprising new face tattoo. “Justin came in last night and decided on a small cross near the corner of his eye,” tattoo artist Jonboy previously told Us. “It represents his journey in finding purpose with God.”
This isn’t the first time Bieber has had a mid-show breakdown. He shared an emotional moment with the crowd at L.A.’s Staples Center during a sold-out show to celebrate the release of his album Purpose in November. Back in August, Bieber also cried during his 2015 VMAs performance of “What Do You Mean?”
